Write about a way in which someone else's volunteer work helped you.
I am sure I have had many times that someone else's volunteer/service work has helped me over the years. But I do have two occasions that mean a lot to me.
One: Years ago when my kids were still puppies I was having an extremely bad, hard, terrible day. And to add fighting kids and stress on top of everything else that was going on in my life I was about ready to crack! I was talking to a friend on the phone and the next thing I knew she had hung up and come over and got my kids, took them to her house and kept them for a few hours while I could calm down and get my bearings. I know most of us have those same kind of days and this day she was a lifesaver not only to me but to my kids. I really needed a "Time Out".
Two: Within one year I had had TWO, yes TWO, Eptopic Pregnancies. The first was an emergency surgery. My tube had ruptured and I was bleeding internally. Doran had to take me to the back door of the Dr.s office and the Dr. had to come out and see me in the vehicle because I was in too much pain to move. Doran drove me straight over to the hospital (across the street) while my Dr. ran over there to do the surgery. I owe my life to my doctor. I never would have made it to another hospital that another Dr. wanted me to go to.
The second happened on my birthday. I was being sent down to a hospital for emergency surgery (not as life threatening as the first, so we thought) 30 minutes away. By the time we got there and I was prepped for surgery my last tube ruptured. I didn't lose as much blood this time.
Needless to say no more children. I was angry and embarrassed to admit that I was angry at Heavenly Father. We wanted more children and I had easy pregnancies and deliveries. Why me?
Well a friend (old enough to be my mom) came over and let herself in and just held me. She didn't say anything or try to tell me things would be alright. She just held me and let me cry for a long time. Then she went home. I will NEVER forget that!!
Today's Thought
"Neither Satan nor any other power can weaken or destroy your growing character. Only you could do that through disobedience. That is why Satan is so intently focused on tempting you to make decisions that will undermine your character. Satan is an accomplished master at making devastating choices appear attractive, even reasonable. So be careful. At this critical time of life you will be faced with many choices. The decisions you will make will profoundly affect life now and for eternity. Make them wisely and prayerfully."

It's good to have angels in our life!
Awe mama.
Jody, I didn't know this about you. I'm so glad you are still here and that the Dr.'s got you better.
You definitely had some pretty sweet ladies giving you love and help.
