I've made a decision.
I will soon invest in some bubble wrap. I'm talking about a HUGE amount. Enough to wear all over my body each day. No Cortney, you can NOT pop it as long as it is on momma.
Since last September I have been on the injured list. A WHOLE year!!! It has been awful! And I am NOT a patient person. Just about a month ago I was starting to feel pretty good that I could start running again. I ended up running the Peach Days race on Sept 10. (that I need to post about, I am SOOO behind) I ran it with Cortney. It was her first 10k and a hard route at that. By the way, she did a great job.
Anyway, then I went to play church volleyball the Saturday after and um....well ya see....I went up for a good hit and came down on someones foot and twisted mine. The wonderful sisters made me sit on the floor (I couldn't stand up anyway) and iced my foot right there. They cleaned up around me. After my ten minute time out they helped me hop out to the car. I drove home with my left foot. No problem with this because I have been practicing since last September remember? Anyway after Doran helped me with an awkward shower we went to the Dr., got an x-ray and the Dr. said...."No more monkeys jumping on the court."
Back on the injured list. sigh....I REFUSE to be knocked down again so I am talking my foot in to feeling better each day. So far it is working. No boot (it hurts in that big thing), no crutches (they are just too hard to carry anything), two things that my doctor advises to use, just until I can walk on it. Well I am telling my foot to get her big girl panties on and GET BETTER!
I believe that there is always good in any situation.
This one is...the new x-ray showed that the heel spur I have been working out is gone!
And..this new owie is on the same foot that has been hurt.
See! TWO positives.
That's my story for today.
Today's Thought
"Neither Satan nor any other power can weaken or destroy your growing character. Only you could do that through disobedience. That is why Satan is so intently focused on tempting you to make decisions that will undermine your character. Satan is an accomplished master at making devastating choices appear attractive, even reasonable. So be careful. At this critical time of life you will be faced with many choices. The decisions you will make will profoundly affect life now and for eternity. Make them wisely and prayerfully."

Man vs Mud
A couple of weekends ago I had the most wonderful, fantastic, fun, eventful opportunity to run.....in the mud.
We were the Hot Mudders!
And YOU....get to enjoy all the pictures because I could not leave ANY out...ok maybe I left a few out.
And why did we get SOOO many wonderful pictures? Because Doran ran along with us or should I say ran ahead, snapped some pictures, then ran ahead snapped some pictures...you get the picture..eh heh.
There were only two obstacles that he didn't dare participate in because he didn't want to ruin the camera.
ENJOY!!
The first slide. All the slides included soap, I guess to get the slickness.
Run to the next obstacle. There were people lined up right about here shooting water guns at the runners.
Heidi, Dawn, Jen, Jodi, Me, Tori
First mud bog...stay with us
Too bad we missed the splash but that is what happened...so fun!
This was a 5k and I am not sure how long it took us but they didn't time you. So I paid everyone a dollar to walk. Ok maybe not, but I offered to.
A couple of guys before us were able to run all the way across but not us. However, I was so glad that I didn't go all the way under like a couple of our Mudders did.
At this point Doran is in the water up to his chest trying not to get the camera in the water. He just jumped in and not tried to go across the floatiethings.
Another splash moment and this stuff was slick. Just as we were getting out I tried to help Jodi up and I went down.
Getting close to the Finish Line
The last slide and it was the BEST!! Notice the big splash at the end. There was no way you could NOT splash on this one.
Jodi was laughing at everyone and pointed at the mud in our teeth.
The Military Crawl
And we are done!!
This guy actually proposed...and she said YES!
Here she is putting on the ring and holding her flowers.
Mud is just caked up her nose
Look at those fingernails. NOT finger lickin' good.
The "showers". This water was fffaarreezing cold but it washed most of the mud off.
Gotta be thorough
Would I do this again?
In a heartbeat!!!
