Today's Thought

"Neither Satan nor any other power can weaken or destroy your growing character. Only you could do that through disobedience. That is why Satan is so intently focused on tempting you to make decisions that will undermine your character. Satan is an accomplished master at making devastating choices appear attractive, even reasonable. So be careful. At this critical time of life you will be faced with many choices. The decisions you will make will profoundly affect life now and for eternity. Make them wisely and prayerfully."

Stick Beatin'

Ok. Maybe it wasn't called Stick Beatin' but La Cross should be called that.
Daddy and I headed on over to Logan to watch Lyle's last game of La Cross.
We have grounded him because he didn't invite us to any of his other games.
Anyway......Neither Doran or I have seen a La Cross game played. We had NO idea of the rules.
It was a fun game to watch.
 Ready, set.....GO #9!!!
I can't believe the CONTACT these guys make. This is Lyle after he stole the ball and is running. You see that white guy with the stick raised? Well, ya, he is chasing Lyle and smacking him with the stick trying to knock the ball loose.
I learned that those helmets and arm pads are ESSENTIAL!!
It was pretty fun to watch when the ball was loose and there was like a dog pile on the ball but with the sticks. Man you had to move fast. AND it is legal (I think) to plow a man over as long as it isn't from the back.
Notice how well protected he is from his head, shoulders, knees and toes....knees and toes....knees and toes.....wait wrong song. Helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads and huge gloves. You DEFINITELY need all this protection. However he did manage to get a chunk out of his shoulder. I can't imagine how? More bubble wrap next time LYLE!!!
Not a sport I would want to play but it was fun to watch!
Then we got to go to the new Pig Out Place in Logan. (Chuck-A-Rama)
I was so sick the rest of the night.
The End

Mission Prep and Blessings

You know that exciting news I was hinting about?

Jordan has been called on a mission to Jackson, Mississippi. He leaves May 25. On Tuesday, April 26 (Bananie's birthday) some of us went to the Logan Temple with Jordan. He received his endowments and at the same time, my brother Jon (Jordan's dad), finished the work for my dad. It was indeed a wonderful day!!

We have three more great great uncles to finish and then there will be a lot of sealings to complete. I am so excited to get those done!!

And this is my handsome nephew, Jordan. We just love his guts!

Sad News is in the AIR....or on the road

I went to therapy yesterday....and the prognosis? I have been officially grounded from running the Utah Valley Half Marathon in June.

I am NOT a happy camper! Especially when I talk to the friends that I planned on running with!!! They have been training and working so hard and I have been sitting and icing. One minute I think...".I'm just going to go ahead and try it." And then the next minute, "Be a good girl and heal first."

I know I am NOT going to be happy just being a photographer and cheerleader. I will be kicking myself the whole time! I will be standing at the finish line BY MYSELF watching my best friend and all my friends run in. (I will be calm, I will be calm)

Can I still wear my shirt and number and cheer? Then see the results that say DNR. (did not run) Oh THAT is going to look lovely! Maybe I can get someone to run in my place. A really FAST runner! Then my score will look awesome!!

K off my soap box and on to other good news!!! Can't you wait to hear what it is?

Slum Drum

I'm in a slum drum. I have no motivation. I am so tired all the time. I have had a tummy ache for a week now. (I think I have an ulcer) I have been eating out of control hoping that everything and anything will sooth the gut. I continue to put on weight instead. My body is in rigamortis stage. I have a bum leg/foot. I feel like my life is falling apart. My house is falling apart. My desire for anything is falling apart. Our race is getting closer and I haven't even started training yet. My spare room is a disaster! My photos and paper work is a mess. I get jealous when others are excelling in areas that I want to also. I am happy for them but I want them to take me with.

Then I get really depressed because I have no reason to complain.

We have fairly good health.
We are employed. (Even though Doran came home the other day stressed and worried that his company will shut down)
We have family that love us.
We have a great marriage.
We are out of debt.
I know who I am.
Heavenly Father loves us.
There are many that are worse off.

THIS list goes on and on.

Then why do I feel this way?
I need to set goals. I need to work toward my goals.
I need to pick myself up by the boot straps and move on....
but I am too tired. WHERE do I begin?

Now WHAT and WHERE?

Because I LOVE pictures AND I have been wanting to get our pictures taken for awhile, you get to see ALL of them! (However she said the has our "fun" ones (crazy face) that she will show me and I am patiently waiting.)
Problem is....I don't know which ones to use and where.
I think this one might be my favorite.

I just LOVE my daddy!!

Thanks Christina for taking these!

Enter for, with, in my behalf.....for ME

My friend Jen is having (in my mind) a HUGE Giveaway!
A few years ago I bought one of these for Doran buuuut I inherited it and NOW, back to daddy. He uses it mostly. When we run together he usually wears it so he can see how far he 'actually' goes because he runs ahead and comes back and runs ahead and comes back for me. When we go somewhere new.....depends on who wears the watch, then the other one guesses how far we have gone.
I have been contemplating on buying another one because you can upload your routes, times and stats. I have not done this yet because we have two different runners on the same watch which would make the times all skittywampish.
SOOOO....cross your fingers that I can win this!!!
Yep, yep, yep!!
:)

Gas Coupon

I didn't realize it, but these coupons are good for one gallon of gas at most retailers.  I have seen them around, but until recently never took advantage of them, I never realized their actual worth.

You probably have one or two just lying around somewhere, now is the time to use them before they lose their value, and it's too late!!
