Today's Thought

"Neither Satan nor any other power can weaken or destroy your growing character. Only you could do that through disobedience. That is why Satan is so intently focused on tempting you to make decisions that will undermine your character. Satan is an accomplished master at making devastating choices appear attractive, even reasonable. So be careful. At this critical time of life you will be faced with many choices. The decisions you will make will profoundly affect life now and for eternity. Make them wisely and prayerfully."

Trek Prep

Last December we were called to be Ma & Pa for this years Stake Trek.

The last time we went we weren't Ma & Pa. It was nice. We just had ourselves and Doran's vignette responsibility to worry about. Now we have teenagers to worry about!

We have been working for months getting ready for Trek.
Unfortunately we haven't been PHYSICALLY getting ready.
We were going to work so hard to get in physical shape before we left because the last couple of years we have kind of slacked off on the exercise routine. I, personally, have put on 10 pounds since Cortney's wedding. Talk about depressing. I'm uncomfortable when I sit, when I sleep, when I move. I'm not used to this belly being in the way and it is frustrating. But obviously it hasn't bugged me enough to do something about it. Sigh

We have gone on a couple of hikes with the youth and this was our latest by ourselves. We left around 10 am thinking that we should hike when it is a little warm to get used to the heat.
We forgot the Garmin but this hike took us about 8 plus miles. Just for Doran to run straight up and back is 8 miles but this time we hiked from home and up on the trail on the south side of his run, up to where he turns around and then back down the highway because we were running late.

You could see the temple in the background.

I love being with my buddy!

I'm so glad that there are crazy people like you willing to help the youth! Have fun.
