Today's Thought

"Neither Satan nor any other power can weaken or destroy your growing character. Only you could do that through disobedience. That is why Satan is so intently focused on tempting you to make decisions that will undermine your character. Satan is an accomplished master at making devastating choices appear attractive, even reasonable. So be careful. At this critical time of life you will be faced with many choices. The decisions you will make will profoundly affect life now and for eternity. Make them wisely and prayerfully."

SIX Years

Our goal is to retire in SIX years. Seems like forever more, but looking back at how far we've come it seems just around the corner.

As technology continues to advance and my mind continues to forget I wonder if I will make it even the six years that I have left until I can retire.

More and more I have to do reports online, file online, work online. My rememberer doesn't remember much anymore. I am constantly writing step-by-step notes on each project that I do and have done for years. However most of my responsibilities ARE changing to the online step so new notes need to be made.

We could probably retire sooner but we would take a big hit in several ways. One being that we would bring home less than HALF of retirement than if we were to stick it out to my full 30 years of service (six more years). Also we would have no health insurance and I would have to wait even longer until I qualify for Medicare/aid. Plus that is that much more income that we would not be bringing in with a paycheck.

Decisions decisions.

I told dad that we could go on mission after mission, that way we can get insurance through them.

Serving a mission while we are still healthy is our goal.

Sooo.........this

and this
along with all the sewing I want to do
will have to wait SIX more years!

Ohhhh yes, I'm counting!

I can't believe your rememberer won't remember! That is just crazy! I'm so envious of your six year timeline. People who are older than dirt when they go back to school and begin a brand new career don't get to even think about retiring - ever!
