Today's Thought

"Neither Satan nor any other power can weaken or destroy your growing character. Only you could do that through disobedience. That is why Satan is so intently focused on tempting you to make decisions that will undermine your character. Satan is an accomplished master at making devastating choices appear attractive, even reasonable. So be careful. At this critical time of life you will be faced with many choices. The decisions you will make will profoundly affect life now and for eternity. Make them wisely and prayerfully."

Whew!!

What a couple of weeks!
The week before last, Doran and I were sick. It took a bit to shake it but we are feeling better. I still sing like a boy but I am talking better.
Then last week until this Tuesday night I have been so busy at work, working late working on completing our Annual Report for the Board Meeting we had on Tuesday. Done! Next.....

Last Saturday after we spent some time digging ourselves out with all the gorgeous snow, we went for a run. The sun was out, still a bit chilly but it was a nice day. The route and the view was fantastic! The steam was coming off the roads. It looked like we were running in a cloud. The run.....was TERRIBLE!  We both had a rough time. My whole right leg was worthless and up into my back. It only hurt when I stepped on my right side. So you know how I felt. Poor Doran was having a rough go at it too. He had hurt his hip a couple days before and it was still hurting along with his back. I did NOT have fun. I did love being with Doran and we went on a new route. About a mile and a half or so left we split up. He headed to add a few more blocks than I could. I actually was going to call for a ride a long time before that and still was going to call for a ride. I ended up running all the way home. When all was done and said I completed 5.5 miles and Doran was a little over 6 miles. We came home stretched and stretched and felt like 80 year old couch potatoes.

A couple of weeks ago I was fitted for some insoles and bought new shoes. I used my new shoes on the TERRIBLE run. Yesterday I picked up my insoles. Now crossing my fingers that these help me. I have GOT to get feeling better so I can train for the Half in June.

Well that's our story.

BTW - more layoffs at Doran's work at the beginning of April. One hundred people will lose their jobs. Cross your fingers that we make this cut too.

That's an impressive run.
Especially if you factor in your illnesses!

Hope the insoles work for you!

I'd say that was a great run! Hoping the best with the layoffs...I am ready for this recession to be over.
