You CAN teach an old dog new tricks

On June 25 we I bought a new piano. Well it isn't new but it is new to our house.
Gloria Jensen, my mom's neighbor, was moving and she was selling a lot of her things.
She let me buy her piano if I would invite her to my first recital. Pah....not going to BE a public recital.

So we got it moved in with only one ding, which breaks my heart, and I started lessons.

We shall see where this takes me.

Skunked by a 5 year old

Ellie came over to play on June 23.

I taught her how to play

She skunked me more than once.

I am a wonderful teacher.

Nuff said.

Girl's Night Out

June 22 I finally participated in a Girl's Night Out.

April and I went over to Chelsea's and watched.

I can't tell you if it was an uninterrupted movie because of course it was

I can hardly remember the date.

I sure do miss my blogging. 

As you can tell from previous posts....life just gets in the way of my plans

and I fail to follow through with much.

Now I should go see if I can find me a piece of Cek...boont cek.

Tanka Tuesday - Chocolate

For the meaning of Tanka you could look it up on Wikipedia.

One Minute Writer explains it like this:

Tanka is a form of Japanese poetry thousands of years old, very similar to haiku. It's short, easy, and doesn't need to rhyme so it lends itself well to TOMW.

The 5 unrhymed lines go in syllables of 5/7/5/7/7. (So, five syllables in the first line, then seven in the second line, five in the third line, and so on.) If you're really clever with your tanka, the first three lines read together form one complete thought, and the last three lines read together form a different complete thought - but don't get overwhelmed by trying to make that work if it's too much. Just write and see what words you can come up with!

A quick brainstorm should yield several words or phrases, then just take a minute and fit them into the 5/7/5/7/7 pattern. And there you have it: Tanka! (You can definitely take more than one minute today if you need!)

July 7 - JPC - First

Yesterday was First.

It was the FIRST day I didn't take a picture so I used the first picture on my phone.

This is what usually happens after everyone comes for dinner.

I could probably make some money if I would start selling forgotten items.

It's a good thing we don't do this every night or the kids would be running around nEcked!

Oh, how I love my kids!!
