Today's Thought

"Neither Satan nor any other power can weaken or destroy your growing character. Only you could do that through disobedience. That is why Satan is so intently focused on tempting you to make decisions that will undermine your character. Satan is an accomplished master at making devastating choices appear attractive, even reasonable. So be careful. At this critical time of life you will be faced with many choices. The decisions you will make will profoundly affect life now and for eternity. Make them wisely and prayerfully."

Hangry

The other day I watched "My 600 pound life." I was heart broken with the disease that these poor people have. I can't imagine trying to get control of your life when it gets to that point.

Even though I give myself a bad time because I LIVE to eat instead of eating to LIVE, I am so glad that I am not worse off than I really am. That being said. I DO have a problem with food.

Well, define problem. I am only hungry when I am awake.
This is so me.
Somehow I have GOT to get under control, but let me finish this Angel Food Cake first....oh and the 3 Musketeers....oh and....
Even if you give me just healthy foods....I can't stop eating!!!
Water, gum, etc...I've heard it all. It doesn't help.
I have SOOO much more self-control when I am asleep!!!
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE FOOD!!!

Fashion

Years ago we were getting ready to go somewhere and I came in and ask Doran, "How does this look?"

Well without skipping a beat he answered. "If you wanna look like that." He claims he was only teasing of course but I immediately went and changed. He tried to get me to change back and that he was REALLY only teasing but I was already insulted...for that night.

From then on we knew that if you asked anyone's opinion on the choice of clothing you made you would probably most definately hear "If you wanna look like that." We have learned to either don't ask or just be ready for the "inside" joke of our family. (We really do follow up with a nice response.)

Well fast forward many years and imagine how hard Doran laughed when he read this in the newspaper the other day....
He's STILL laughing!!

The Next Betty Crocker.....

OR NOT!!!
I am NOT a very good follow-the-instructions-well type of cook. However when it is something new I try to do my best. Well anyway...
When I read about this yummy Artisan Bread over on Kimmie's blog I was anxious to try it.
Before I made it I called and made sure I got the instructions correct. I told her I am famous to mess up someones recipe. She told me that it was easy and everyone that she knows that has tried it has really liked it. I told her if I messed it up we would come have dinner at her house. Wouldn't you know I forgot to get her address.
Well I made the dough Saturday night so I could bake some for Sunday FAMILY dinner. Ya know, when EVERYONE comes over.
Anyway I followed the recipe as best as I wanted to could and this is how it turned out.

Don't give up hope on me though cuz I still have some dough in the fridge.
Oh Kimmie!!! What's for dinner next time?

OBVIOUS Hints

When Doran and I went to Arizona for Thanksgiving his sister, Claire, had this fun little race track set for her grandchildren. Well I decided I wanted one too so I started looking. Finally I found one on Amazon. I "HINTED" to my family that I wanted one for Christmas.....
Christmas came and went...no race track. (But tons thanks for the other gifts!!!)
Then I "HINTED" I wanted one for my birthday (in January)...Birthday came and went and no race track.
Well then here comes Valentine's and our Anniversary....forget it!! You know the song...."If you want something done...then do it yourself. Sometimes men are so oblivious to hints even if you circle it and tape it on the fridge. Before those even rolled around I ordered one MUOWMSELF. And look what I finally got on my door step!! I so surprised myself!!
(Not the dumb dog, but the race track!)

Lexi was a lot of help...psha!
And here is our first contestant, Ryan.
I had to take part of it down because it wasn't racing as fast as I wanted it to.
He had more fun grabbing the track and dragging it to me....while it was falling apart.
Maybe when he is a little older the track will stay closer to the ground.
BUT the other kids might be old enough to enjoy it!
Come on Bananie, Cookie and Scooter! Let's see who's car is faster!!
Brother might do the same as Ryan though. Well, we will see.
Until then....Krampa and I are off to the races. Guess who will win?
Don't tell him I put an weight on the underside of his car.

Blog Book

About a week before Valentine's Day I FINALLY finished my SECOND Blog book. It is for the year 2008. It took FOREVER due to procrastination job cut backs.  I think I might still be a tad behind, what do you think? Never mind, don't answer that.
Well I didn't expect it until February 22 but it arrived ON Valentine's Day!!! Guess what I gave daddy for Valentine's? It cost more than the flowers and chocolate that daddy gave me but doesn't taste or smell nearly as good.
Aren't these beeutiful?

I SOOO wish I had something like this to read of my mom or grandparents. Maybe my grand kids will be glad they have this.

This was the year the our little Scooter (3rd grandchild) was born, about a week and a half before my father passed away. He was able to hold her and squish her even though he wasn't strong enough to open his eyes and talk to her. Such a wonderful memory.
SO glad I finished it. Some of the dumb things I left in there will actually be interesting to our posterity. Really, I'll leave money taped to the page to convince them.

Welp, now to unprocrastinate to download another year....maybe later.
