Today's Thought

"Neither Satan nor any other power can weaken or destroy your growing character. Only you could do that through disobedience. That is why Satan is so intently focused on tempting you to make decisions that will undermine your character. Satan is an accomplished master at making devastating choices appear attractive, even reasonable. So be careful. At this critical time of life you will be faced with many choices. The decisions you will make will profoundly affect life now and for eternity. Make them wisely and prayerfully."

In Love

I talked to my daughter Cortney last night and she told me she was invited to a party tonight (Tuesday, Valentine's Day). I asked her if it was a  Singles Awareness Party. She said it is a Loveless or In Love party. Everyone is invited. If you are Loveless come and maybe you will find love. If you are In Love bring your partner and show them off. How fun.

Well since I am such a slug and PROCRASTINATOR, I thought I would make a quick post.

This is daddy and I am IN LOVE!!
He is so wonderful to support me in most everything I do.
It is GREAT to married to your BEST FRIEND!!!
So HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY Doran!!!
Dinner is in the crock pot.
I am heading to Relief Society. Muah!

Is there a 12 Step Program for...

I ran across someones blog about Pinterest. I have been wanting to share my "addiction" for a while but didn't dare admit I had a problem.

Hi, my name is Jody and I well....hmm...I'll get back to you.

Step ONE - What is Pinterest?

Step TWO - Actually listen while someone is telling you all about the neat boards you make of different likes/wants/needs/need-to-makes and still go huh?

Step THREE - Create an account.

Step FOUR - Stay up first night trying to mess up your boards.

Step FIVE - Get the hang of creating your boards and pinning begins.

Step SIX - Order pizza because you were too busy on Pinterest to make dinner.

Step SEVEN - Find some AWESOME things to cook for your family (but serve cold cereal that night because yes you were too busy again).

Step EIGHT - PIN, PIN, PIN.

Step NINE - Make sure you accomplish something BEFORE you get on Pinterest.
Step TEN - Actually MAKE something you found on Pinterest.

Step ELEVEN - Make goals that you will create/make/complete at least one item that you pinned.

Step TWELVE - Ah...just admit you have an addiction and pin away and hope that someone creates a "I completed this, where is the star for my forehead?"

Oh...would you look at the time!! I need to pin something before I go to bed. Gnight!

Primary books

I teach Primary 6-7 class every other week. At the first of the year my teaching partner had a great idea to make some books for each of the kids. These books would be used at the end of each lesson, time permitting, to color, draw or write about what we learned in class that day. We would keep the books and bring them each Sunday and then they can take them home at the end of the year.
So I told her I would make the books. I purchased the regular size 8.5 x 11 notebooks and then found this cute template. I wish I could remember where so I could give them credit. Anyway, I printed the page for each book and then a couple of weeks ago I took my camera to church and took pictures of each of the kids. It took a couple of Sundays to actually catch them all. Then I put their cute smiling faces on the front of their books.
Look how they turned out. So cute!!
I glued the pages to the fronts but ended up putting staples in each corner because the glue wasn't holding like I wanted it to.
And nope, this wasn't from Pinterest.
It was from my OWN brain.

think...post...think...post

then forget what you were going to post about.

I am sure this happens to no one else...ya right.
During the day I am constantly "living" my day out and thinking (yes, I usually do get a headache from that process) hmm...I should post that so I can remember it later. Then by time I can get to my blog I get hooked into reading other blogs and see how fun, sad, fascinating, upbeat, depressing and just plain old day stuff happens to all of us. How fun they are to read. I really, really need to do that to my blog too. Welp, then I run out of computer time to make a post because I have to hurry and check out and pin on Pinterest all these things that I won't get to.

Then I finally have time to post and .....now, what were we talking about? Oh ya. Chocolate. Wait...no...
I'll get back to you when I figure it out.

BTW, I HAVE completed a couple of things from Pinterest. I guess I should post about that eh?

Or....maybe I should get me an IPad2. What do you think?

Oh look! A piece of candy.

Friday - Date Night
Saturday - Pizza

Remember when...

I would like to know at what age did we grow out of this?
borrowed from Google

I remember sitting on the heater vent in my nightgown and it would balloon up. You almost couldn't find me. Then when the heater would turn off you would sit there on the hard grates and freeze until the heater kicked on again.

Well, psha! I think I am going to go get me a nightgown and try it again. I can't get warm enough!

Set myself up to fail?

Nope! That's why I don't make New Year's Resolutions.
I do however HOPE that I can achieve such and such and do better in this and that.
But if I don't allow myself for mistakes I sure can beat up on myself!

With that being said. Daddy is back to his gung ho workout schedule. He would like to improve on his weight lifting days but on his running days (3-4 times a week), he is running at LEAST 8 miles. I would love to be able to run ONE mile again. sigh...

I found a new workout buddy. Her name is Dawn and she is helping me stay inspired to go to the gym in the mornings. Well at least hoping I would GET inspired. We met when we ran the Dirty Dash. We do weights Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. I haven't been doing much of any cardio though. But....hold on to your hats...I text Dawn Saturday morning to see if she wanted to go for a WALK with me. She said ok and I had just woke her up. THEN I looked outside because I thought I had heard snowplows for the first time this winter. Yep! It snowed. I asked her if she had looked outside yet. She said she had but we both still wanted to go. She has been fighting the same kind of foot problems and discouragement I have. Sooo....off we went for our walk. Since it wasn't going to be for very long and it was a walk, neither one of us took our Garmin watches. But we did end up running a little bit and it felt GOOD!! Of course we did some downhill but we also fit some killer uphills in too. Not long ones but for us they were a mile stone. The total distance was about 3 miles with almost one mile running.

I also went to my first 2012 cycling class this morning at 5:00 AM!!! I didn't even know my alarm had numbers before 5:00 am.

So far this year (part being Christmas break), Doran and I installed a new bathroom cabinet, sink, light fixture, mirror and painted the walls. We would like to get new flooring but that will have to wait.

I made cushion covers for a recliner and dejunked one bathroom and our bedroom closet.
I have turned all my remaining hangers with clothes on them around backwards. If they haven't been used and turned around by July 1, they too will find a new home.

This week I am working on my kitchen cabinets. This may take a couple of weeks.

If anyone is good or even NOT good but likes to hang pictures and such up, come on over. I so want to hang my stuff up but I don't know where to put things. ugh!!

Look! I posted!!

Oh! And I signed up for the Story at Home Conference in March. I guess I better get myself back in the blogging mood.

Until next time....
